Gloom Archives is a personal publication. This page explains what data is processed on the site and why, which cookies are used, and your rights (privacy notice under the EU GDPR and Turkish KVKK).

What we process and why
- Our own measurement (cookieless): aggregate information such as which pages are opened and reading time and depth. No cookie, IP address or visitor-identifying ID is stored. Purpose: improving the content. Basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Google Analytics 4: visitor measurement. We use the cookies below unless you decline; if you decline, no cookie is set and Google receives only a basic cookieless request without identifiers (it sees the IP address as part of the connection, GA4 does not log IP addresses). Data may be transferred to Google LLC (USA). Basis: legitimate interest; you can object (decline) at any time (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) and Art. 21, KVKK Art. 5/2-f and 11).
- Comments: if you comment, your name, an optional email address (only for the approval notice, never published) and the comment text are stored. Comments are published after moderation. Basis: consent and legitimate interest.
- Email subscription: if you subscribe, your email address and language preference are stored; there is double opt-in and one-click unsubscribe in every email. Emails are sent through Resend. Basis: consent.
- Delivery and security: the site is served through Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to deliver the connection and prevent abuse. Rate limiting also uses the IP temporarily.
Your cookie choice
You can decline analytics cookies or turn them back on at any time. If you choose nothing, they stay on.
Exercising your rights
Under GDPR Art. 15-21 and KVKK Art. 11 you have the right to know whether your data is processed, to access, correct and erase it, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to the contact address below; we reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority or the supervisory authority in your country.
Retention
Comments are kept until deleted, subscription emails until you unsubscribe. Our own measurement contains no personal data. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting of the Google account.
